Patna: A class 12 student was murdered and his body thrown along a busy road in Bihar after he made public the love affairs of his classmate.

The incident took place in Rohtas district, a south-west district some 160km from Patna, sparking strong protests in the areas with the villagers blocking the roads with the body of the victim.

Police said the victim Sahil Kumar had been receiving constant threats since he saw his classmate with a girl student in a compromising position in the classroom some 10 days back and spoke about it.

“For the past one week, he (victim) had been constantly receiving murder threats on his cell phone right since he witnessed the students’ affair in the classroom. He was being told to shut his mouth,” victim’s uncle Prabhunath Singh told the police.

As the matter reached the college principal, he intervened in the matter and a compromise was arrived at. On Friday, however, the boy’s body was found along the busy road in district with his bike lying close by. The victim was the only son of his parents.

The police identified the body with the help of his identity card and informed his family. The news of the murder soon sparked strong protests in the areas as irate villagers blocked the main road and protested with the body, disrupting the traffic for hours together.

“The police are looking into the case and awaiting the post-mortem examination report to ascertain the cause of the death. Further investigation is on,” a local police official Vishvajeet Kumar told the Gulf News.
