Hyderabad:Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will disclose its stand on Presidential elections only after the names of the candidates are announced by the ruling National Democratic Alliance and the opposition alliance, led by Congress.

This strategy was finalised at the meeting of the party’s elected representatives. The meeting passed a resolution authorising party president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to take a decision on whom to support.

The resolution asked the party president to examine and identify the candidate to extend party’s support. “The president is authorised to take a decision that will be beneficial to the party”, the resolution said.

The party asked its MPs to be careful while interacting with the media on the issue.

KCR’s decision to keep his cards close to his chest is being seen in the context of the recent round of war of words between him and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah over the issue of Central funds to Telangana. KCR was angry with Shah over his criticism of the state government’s performance.
