Hyderabad: Telangana’s chief minister K, Chandrasekhar Rao, continuing his “thanksgiving” spree will visit a famous Muslim shrine next week and make an offering of 51 goats to fulfill the vow he made during the movement for a separate state.

Deputy chief minister Mahmoud Ali who has been asked to make arrangements for the occasion said that Rao will pay a visit to Dargah Jahangir Peeran in Mahbubnagar district on November 10. Besides the goat sacrifice, food will be cooked for 5,000 people on the occasion.

So far KCR has visited several famous temples in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and made offerings of gold ornaments to the deities there. He also sent a Chadar to the famous shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, Rajasthan, to fulfil his vow.

“KCR had made the vow that if Telangana state becomes a reality he will visit the Dargah and make an offering. Now he is going to fulfil it,” Ali said.

Telangana government was also in the process of fulfilling its promise of building a guest house in Ajmer for pilgrims from Telangana. “I have already visited Rajasthan and handed over a letter from our chief minister to his Rajasthan counterpart for [the] allotment of land in Ajmer,” he said. “The deal to purchase 30 acres [12 hectares] of land will be completed very soon,” he said.
