New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a woman who had allegedly honey-trapped a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and demanded Rs50 million from him.

K.C. Patel, MP from Valsad constituency in Gujarat, had filed a complaint with the police last week, following which the woman approached a city court, claiming the police did not register her rape complaint.

While the woman had alleged that the lawmaker had raped her on several occasions, Patel claimed he was drugged and obscene videos and photos were shot by her.

“The woman was arrested from her home in Ghaziabad. Member of Parliament K.C. Patel had alleged that the woman invited him to a place in Ghaziabad for some work where she offered him a soft drink which was laced with sedatives. It has emerged that the woman was involved in similar instances earlier,” sources in Delhi Police told Gulf News.

Patel told the police that a gang, led by that woman, took him to a house in Ghaziabad. He alleged that the gang has ever since been blackmailing him.

“She gave me a spiked drink at the Ghaziabad residence and later filmed me in an objectionable manner. The woman later threatened to make the video clips viral if she was not paid Rs50 million,” the MP told media on Tuesday.

He said he had faith in judiciary and will cooperate in investigation.

“These are all false allegations against me. I have full faith in law; will fully cooperate in the investigation,” Patel said.

Meanwhile, the woman on Monday evening told media that she was repeatedly sexually exploited by the MP.

“He asked me to come to his official residence to talk regarding a Supreme Court matter. At his house, he forced himself on me and raped me. He is trying to deflect attention from his own offence by making such claims,” the woman said.

She claimed that she had made the CD since Patel had been sexually assaulting her and threatening her with dire consequences.

“He threatened me with dire consequences if I ever told about it to anyone. He told me that he is from the government, which is in power at the Centre, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. He said he can do anything,” she said.

When asked why she did not care to inform the police, the woman said she did not want to risk her life.

“I created a sex video for self defence. The video is dated March 28. I never blackmailed him. I took the courage to approach the police after the harassment got out of hand,” she said.

On Monday, a Delhi court has ordered police to investigate the case.
