Patna: In a rare incident, the bleating of goats led to the arrest of two thieves in Bihar on Friday.

The incident took place in Chausa block of Buxar district, south-western district some 130km from Patna.

Reports said two thieves driving an ambassador car reached the area at noon on Friday and hurriedly stole around a dozen goats grazing grass along paddy fields.

They kept the goats inside the car.

However, when the goats began bleating after seeing their owner standing a little distance away from them, the thieves started to flee.

Listening to the familiar sound of bleating, the woman raised an alarm after which local villagers working on farmland rushed to the spot and stopped them.

Angry villagers later beat the goat thieves and damaged their car before handing them over to the police.

Both culprits have been sent to jail. The thieves told the police that they had been engaged in such theft many times but this time they got caught. The said they usually stole grazing goats from fields and sold them to butchers.

The people never suspected them as they would ride a car, one of the thieves told the cops.
