New Delhi: Hindu fundamentalist outfit Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Acharya Dharmendra on Friday urged the Indian government to drop the nuclear bomb on Pakistan in view of a recent spurt in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops and to “maintain stability and peace in the Indian subcontinent.”

“India should drop a nuclear bomb on Pakistan for creating tension at the border. It is a rogue nation and India must teach that country a lesson. It is important for peace in the Indian subcontinent,” he told media during a public event function in Kota, Rajasthan.

He suggested naming Pakistan as an enemy state, and not a neighbouring state.

“It is indeed a matter of shame that Pakistan is still being considered a neighbour instead of being an enemy country,” he said.

The seer went to the extent of holding ‘Father of Indian Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi responsible for the 1947 partition between Indian and Pakistan.

“Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the partition of India. I question the Indian government’s decision to put Mahatma Gandhi’s picture on Indian currency notes,” he added.

He disagreed with the statements of Rajasthan High Court judge MC Sharma on national animal status for cow and peacocks not having sex to procreate.

“Cow cannot be termed an animal, so national animal status should not be demanded for it. Cow should be given status of national mother, as it is revered as mother in the country. Cow killers should be given capital punishment,” he added.

The religious leader said Justice Sharma’s observation that peahens get pregnant through tears of peacocks was inaccurate.

“Peacocks breed through sexual intercourse. Peahens getting pregnant by swallowing tears of peacocks is merely part of a poem,” he said.

He said beef eaters were enemies of mankind.

“Beef eaters are the worst kind of people on earth. It is sad that today cow killings are being justified for vote bank politics. Maoists are being given Rs15 lakh for their surrender whereas gau rakshaks (cow protectors) are being termed as goons,” Dharmendra said.

He also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the centre of not fulfilling the Hindu community’s aspirations.

“The present dispensation has confined itself to building just toilets and ensuring cleanliness. They have failed to fulfil the dreams of the Hindu community. The Narendra Modi government came to power at the Centre by criticising the pink revolution, but beef exports have increased during their regime,” he averred.

Dharmendra said he was not against the Muslim community.

“I am an admirer of patriotic Muslims such as former president APJ Abdul Kalam and freedom fighter Ashfaqulla Khan,” he said.

Last month, Dharmendra was sentenced to one year imprisonment by a Rajasthan court for making a hate speech in November 2008. A case was registered against him under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to promoting enmity between different groups, disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant and other offences.
