UAE-based rock band When the Night Comes might get the chance to perform with Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz and other big name acts after winning a local battle of the bands competition, Hard Rock Rising, on Monday night.
The band, along with the winners of the local competitions around the globe, will now compete on a regional level for a shot at the grand prize.
Judges, including Little Steven of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, will assess songs and music videos posted online and decide on a winner from each region in May. The final five contenders will go against each other in Barcelona on July 23, live on stage.
The victorious act will perform at Hard Rock Rising Barcelona, a festival taking place in Platja del Forum on July 24 and 25, in front of 60,000 audience members. Popular acts taking the stage include Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz, Robbie Williams and Avicii.
