More Etihad flghts to Athens and Larnaca

The Abu Dhabi-based airline has added three flights on the route to the Greek capital, from seven to 10 flights per week, giving more connecting opportunities with Etihad’s codeshare partner Aegean Airlines, with destinations such as Crete, Rhodes and Santorini. Aegean Airlines will start a direct Athens-Abu Dhabi service from May 28.

From June 1 to September 30, the daily EY090/EY091 flights will be upgraded from the present 174-seat Airbus A321 operation to a 254-seat Airbus A330-200. Flights on the Abu Dhabi-Larnaca route increase from three to five flights per week, with a daily service from July 1-September 30. The airline has also announced an agreement with Fiji Airways, which they called “the starting point of further negotiations between the two airlines”.

Air Arabia flies from RAK International

The low-cost airline starts flights from the emirate’s airport on May 6 with eight routes. Two new Airbus A320 aircraft will service Jeddah, Cairo, Muscat, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Dhaka; Calicut will be added shortly after launch.

Bin Majid to open luxury hotel on RAK's Marjan Island

A bit of Greece is coming to Ras Al Khaimah, in the shape of Bin Majid Hotels and Resorts’ Santorini hotel opening on the man-made Marjan Island at the end of the year. The seven-story building will have 410 guest rooms; it’s their fifth property in RAK (joining Beach Resort, Beach Hotel, Acacia Hotel and Mangrove Hotel).
