The one-meat plate at Tom & Serg's Rule The Roast, which is being revived for one night only on September 30.

Rule the roast is back — for one more night.

Al Quoz’s best roast dinner returns on September 30. If, like us, you were queueing out the door at Tom & Serg’s Ramadan roast dinners, you’ll be over the moon to hear they are doing it one more time. The family-style dinners will be served 6pm-10pm; they only take bookings for groups of 10 or more. The menu is the same as before: juicy roast 150-day Angus rib eye beef, corn-fed organic chicken, lamb leg, roasted cod fillet, chips and gravy, cauliflower cheese, roast garlic with shallots and green peas, and stuffed eggplant with tomato and mozzarella. The difference is the pricing: Dh95 (choice of one meat); a multi-meat (a maximum of three) plate is Dh115. Call 056-4746812.

Clé Dubai open October 13

Greg Malouf’s making his Dubai debut next month. His new space, Cle Dubai, at Al Fattan Currency House in DIFC, will also see international celebrities at the opening party, we hear. Unlike many other celebrity chef-run spots in the city, Malouf will be permanently based here, cooking up his modern Middle Eastern dishes in the restaurant with a stunning view over the Burj Khalifa, and live music and performance to boot. One to look forward to. Email reservations@cle-dubai.com

Business lunch at Qbara

The fabulous modern Arabic restaurant at Wafi recently launched its brunch and now you can go there for lunch on weekdays, too. The three-course lunch, Dh110, is available Sunday-Thursday, noon-3pm. Choices include Turkish beef tartar and Bandari-spiced seared salmon. Or head there after work from 5-8pm for small bites with your drinks; call 800 qbara.

Celebrate Mexico

Like you needed another reason to have fun Mexican-style, right? September 16 is Mexican Independence Day but you can celebrate all week with Maya Modern Mexican Kitchen + Lounge’s food festival (until September 22). A few new dishes are on the menu for this week only. Think Aguachile de Mariscos, a tangy, spicy seafood dish, or Chile en Nogada, a chili pepper stuffed with minced veal, tomato, onions, almonds, pomegranate and a cinnamon-walnut sauce. It’s open for dinner only. Call 04-3165550.
