Global Nobu chefs to gather in Dubai

Nobu fans, this is your moment. The man behind the restaurant, Nobu Matsuhisa, is launching a World of Nobu Food Festival, and Dubai is the city to host the first edition, at Atlantis, The Palm. Twenty-one Nobu chefs from 10 Nobu restaurants around the world will be in the city from October 16-17. Chefs from global Nobus, including Malibu, London, Tokyo, Cape Town, Milan and Mykonos, will be working in a pop-up restaurant at the Asateer tent at the hotel. The Japanese food fun starts with a party serving unlimited tapas from the Nobu chefs to the sound of a DJ (Dh450) on October 16. The next day, brunch takes the form of the Global Tasting Festival, from 12pm-4pm, serving over 80 dishes from the Nobu locations, Dh595 with beverages. Wrapping up the festival is the World of Nobu, a six-course gala dinner with chef Nobu, Dh995.

The terraces are open!

Perfectly timed with the decline in humidity, Dubai’s open-air eateries are reopening — along with one new opening. 40 Kong, at the H Hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road, reopens on Tuesday with food, drink and resident DJs (on the menu: veal Milanese, yellow fin tuna sashimi and Greek sea bass). Fans of Iris will be glad to hear the party moves back outside from this week too, at the top of the Oberoi in Business Bay. The latest take on rooftop drinks and dinner is Level 43, at the Four Points by Sheraton on Shaikh Zayed Road Dubai; call 04-3169888.
