Abu Dhabi: It is a lofty challenge for all burger lovers in Abu Dhabi.

With eight layers of beef patties and half a kilo of french fries on the side, the Burg burger is the tallest to spring from a plate ever in the UAE, according to its makers.

Burger Bureau, a fast-food joint in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall, is challenging customers to sink their teeth into this skyscraper of a burger that costs a whopping Dh125. You are also served two glasses of soft drinks to wash it down. And if you finish the burger in less than 25 minutes, you get it all free.

Mohammad Isham, restaurant manager at Burger Bureau, told XPRESS that the Burg burger stands tall at almost one foot.

A total of 680 grams of beef is used to make the high-rise burger with each patty weighing 85 grams. The patties are layered with Swiss and cheddar cheese, lettuce, onion and tomatoes.

Isham insists that the burger is healthy as they use only sugar free bun and grass-fed angus beef patties.

“We are here to solve all the burger crimes and promote it as a healthy meal. That is why all our burgers are healthy and made with fresh ingredients,” said the restaurant’s manager.

Walid Al Zayani finished the burger in 15 minutes 44 seconds.

The Burger Bureau challenge, launched almost a year ago, has had many takers, claims Isham.

“There are lots of customers who take up the burger challenge. And six out of 10 people almost invariably win,” said Isham. Some people lose in the last five minutes of the challenge, he added.

The winners not only get to eat a towering burger, but also have their names inscribed on the Burger Bureau’s Wall of Fame.
