The last time I picked up a pair of aerobic weights and really stretched my muscles was eons ago. I admit my bursts of passion for exercise comes once in a blue moon. So when I heard about Fairmont The Palm's newest health booster, I felt almost guilty.

The five-star hotel on Palm Jumeirah is relaunching “Full Moon Yoga” sessions on its white sandy beachfront starting on September 17. Yoga instructor Kate Kowalski will take the lead in the Monday classes.

Why do yoga under the moon? Kowalksi said it's because the human body is affected by outside factors, including the moon and its vibes. Kowalski said the moon is linked to the earth's gravitational pull and the tides and since our body is 70 per cent water, it does have a great effect on us. During that time, we experience a heightened sense of awareness, Kowalski said.
