While Dubai Shopping Festival is all about shopping, the first thing that always draws my attention is the window display. There's a ton of thought and work that go into the making of those mall art. Here’s a round-up of some interesting ones I have seen out there.

Ted Lapidus, Outlet Mall

What’s interesting about it: Looking at that chic window display makes it easier to pretend I’m walking in France, surrounded by well-dressed men. Oh la la!

What’s inside: Sale from 70-75 per cent off on fashion items for men

Best buy: Men’s suit for Dh220

Sacoor Brothers, Mall of Emirates

What’s interesting about it: Did someone forget to water the DSF logo here because I can’t see it. Although, I quite love the prickly charm of this artistic display using cactus-like plants (sorry, Ronaldo, I didn’t see you right away!). It’s like saying fashion may change but some resilient styles never die.

What’s inside: Fifty per cent off everything!

Best buy: Trench coats for around Dh700, shoes for Dh400

GANT, Mall of Emirates

What’s interesting about it: The artistic pile of firewood behind the mannequins sends warms thoughts this cool, winter season. Of course, now I know where to look the next time we run out of firewood for the desert bonfire.

What’s inside: Up to 60 per cent off on selected items

Best buy: Gift set with a pair of men’s trunks for Dh99 (was Dh249)

Sharaf DG, Mirdif City Centre

What’s interesting about it: Just in case you were visually challenged or just completely oblivious to everything around you, there’s a giant DSF shopping logo to greet you at the entrance, next to a board that squeals Crazzzy Deal!

What’s inside: Yes, crazy deals on electronics and bundle offers

Best buy: Huawei Ascend for Dh189 (one of the cheapest smartphones in the market), with free UAE Royals merchandise

Regal, Satwa

What’s interesting about it: Amid the sea of electronics and car accessories shops in Satwa, Regal’s lively DSF window display stands out like a breath of fresh air.

What’s inside:
Up to 50 per cent discount on selected textiles

Best buy: Pashmina shawls for Dh35 and Dh56

Ed Hardy, Dubai Mall

What’s interesting about it: Mannequins in hoodies and a motorbike set against a backdrop of a friendly dragon. What’s not to like?

What’s inside: Sale from 25-60 per cent off on selected items

Best buy: Zip-up hoodie for Dh250 (was Dh630)

C. Wonder, Mall of Emirates

What’s interesting about it: That tricycle. I’m sure that in some alternative universe people actually get to drive that in malls when they’re on a major shopping spree.

What’s inside: Up to 60 per cent off on women’s clothing, bags and accessories.

Best buy: Long-sleeve satin shirts for Dh199.

Tchibo, Outlet Mall

What’s interesting about it: Sure, it looks like a corner of your preschool classroom, but I will still give them an A for enthusiasm and effort!

What’s inside: Further discounts on sale items

Best buy: Single cabinet for Dh199

Gaudi, Dubai Mall

What’s interesting about it: I tend to do a double-take every time a luxury fashion brand goes on sale (by the looks of it, I’m not the only one!) and that huge splash of red tells me it’s sale season, baby!

What’s inside: Sale up to 50 per cent off on selected items

Best buy: Multi-coloured polo shirts for Dh80

Tommy Hilfiger Junior, Dubai Mall

What’s interesting about it: Love the warm tones and the winter vibes of this fun window display (the multi-coloured stack of logs gives me a great idea for next Christmas. Now, where to borrow a chainsaw…)

What’s inside: Up to 60 per cent discount on selected items

Best buy: 50 per cent discount on kid’s shoes, including a topsider for Dh225 (was Dh449)

Athlete’s Co, Dubai Mall

What’s interesting about it: I love the casual, warehouse-inspired look of this Imeldific window shop display.

What’s inside: Up to 60 per cent discount on footwear

Best buy:
Toms for Dh199, Fitflops for Dh149

Aizone, Dubai Mall

What’s interesting about it: Not sure which beanstalk that green-headed giant clambered down from, but it sure looks comfortable with all the attention here in Aizone (I’d watch out for those neon-lit lips).

What’s inside: 30-70 per cent discount on most items

Best buy: Burberry bags at 30 per cent off the price
