Report: A day for palm trees was organised by the Juma Al Majid Culture and Heritage Centre yesterday (Saturday).

The function that was held under the patronage of Juma Al Majid included a lecture about palm trees as food and building units, and other activities such as the exhibition for palm tree frond products.

The day also included a book signing ceremony for the book titled ‘Palm tree planting and dates production in the Arab World: the status quo and obstacles’ authored by Dr Abdul Basit Oadah Ebrahim.

The day’s activities started with the opening of the palm tree fronds exhibition which comprised a number of the most popular handicrafts known in the UAE and related to palm tree fronds such as mats, fans, food covers, and many other products.
