The party official began on Thursday night across Abu Dhabi as Yasalam 2015’s race weekend programme kicked off on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. At the du Arena after-race concert, it was an Arabic musical night starting off with DJ Said Mrad, followed by Emirati singer Aryam and then ‘romance king’ Fares Karam. Algerian trendsetter Cheb Khaled, known for global hits Didi, Aïcha and C’est la vie, closed the night.

Meanwhile at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, the free Beats on the Beach concert saw Filipino rocker Bamboo, Emirati singer Fayez Al Saeed and Moroccan heartthrob Saad Lamjarred take the stage. Then Swedish sensation Tove Lo took the night to a new high with her radio hits ‘Habits (Stay High)’ and ‘Talking Body’.

Dubai hip hop collective S.O.S. (Secrecy over Supremacy), who recently won the Yasalam Emerging Talent Competition also made their UAE stage debut.

Friday night will see Enrique Iglesias return to the UAE at the du Arena, while Beats on the Beach will host DJ Trey ‘AcE’ Smith, rap star J.Cole, UAE rockers Carl & the Reda Mafia as well as regional superstars Wael Kfoury and local talent Omar Al Marzooqi.
