Over the years, many beauty brands have given up testing their products on animals and for good reason; it’s unnecessary and cruel. Now, cruelty-free beauty products aren’t limited to Lush and The Body Shop (which have been cruelty-free for ages). Here are some great brands that leave the bunny rabbits alone.

1. Kat Von D Beauty

Not only is the brand cruelty-free, it’s vegan too — just like its talented, tattooed founder. The brand prides itself on its high quality and is known to have some of the most pigmented eyeshadows and foundations around. Her concealers can even be used to cover up tattoos. 2. Farsali skincare

This super trendy brand was created by the husband of popular YouTuber Farah Dhukai. I’ve watched hundreds of YouTube or Instagram make-up artists drip the brand’s oils onto their brushes and faces to get a boost of moisture. Their Rose Gold elixir even contains real gold flecks, apart from rosehip and pumpkin seed oil and vitamin E.

3. Urban Veda

Want to mix beauty and Ayurveda? Then this brand is one to check out. It’s cruelty free, organic and vegetarian, and the range includes products for the face and body. The packaging is also lovely to look at and would be a colourful addition to anyone’s dressing table.

4. The Organic Pharmacy

I have seen multiple beauty bloggers rave about this brand’s skincare products such as the Carrot Butter Cleanser, which is a balm that contains natural ingredients such as shea butter, marigold, rosemary and of course, carrots. Almost good enough to eat.

5. Colourpop

Cheap as chips and cruelty free? Yes, please! This brand is everywhere and their range — from liquid lipsticks to blushes to gel eyeliners — is affordable enough to fill up that online shopping cart without feeling too guilty.

6. Urban Decay

Known for its Naked palettes, this brand has been championing being different since 1996, when they launched their products that went against the beauty norms of the time. Some of their best-sellers include the All Nighter Setting Spray, the iconic Eyeshadow Primer Potion and the psychedelic Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner.
