Doctors from 50 nations will swap their stethoscopes with musical instruments as they perform live at a charity concert at Dubai Opera on March 22.

Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Al Jalila Foundation is hosting the World Doctors Orchestra charity event where 100 per cent of the proceeds on the night will go towards funding healthcare programmes.

The Dubai Opera concert will also feature the world premiere of Positive Spirit, a musical piece inspired by Shaikh Mohammad’s poem and composed by Jonathan Barrett, director of Dubai Chamber Orchestra.

The group of physicians will also perform classical pieces including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, conducted by Stefan Willich, Professor in Medicine at the Charite University Medical Centre in Berlin and former President of the Berlin Music Conservatory Hanns Eisler. A performance by UAE-based violinist Klaudia Olborska-Szymanska will also feature.

Tickets for the event start at Dh250, with the performance starting at 8pm.
