Dubai: Super sales, fireworks, performances, and decorations marked the first day of the monthlong Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), which began on Tuesday.
The 23rd edition of the DSF started with a special 12-hour sale — from 12pm to 12am — offering up to 90 per cent discounts at participating stores at five City Centre malls and Mall of the Emirates.
The latest edition of DSF will run till January 27, 2018.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSF also offers 25 to 75 per cent savings at over 3,000 participating outlets in malls across the city.
The festival includes weekly flash sales, in-mall promotions and entertainment; the chance to win prizes, luxury cars, gold and cash at daily raffles; fireworks; and concerts.

On Tuesday, while shoppers thronged malls for DSF deals, decorations celebrating the annual festival studded a number of spots in the city.
Tuesday night in Dubai will be lit up by fireworks at The Beach, La Mer, and Al Seef.
Towards the end of the day, the first raffle draw results — revealed daily at Global Village — for day one of the Infiniti Mega Raffle would be broadcast live on Sama Dubai TV.
DSF has also teamed up with five homeware stores over the next five weeks to give shoppers a chance to give their dining room, living room or bedroom a makeover.
Shoppers can also win 33 kilos of gold worth Dh5 million during this DSF.
During 33 days of DSF, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group’s promotion will choose 100 winners, including a mega winner on the final day raffle who can take home one kilogram of gold.
Three lucky shoppers will win gold prizes every day — one 500gm gold bar and two 250gm bars.
