Dubai: The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), Dubai’s annual citywide shopping extravaganza starts on Tuesday, lasting until January 27, 2018, featuring huge sales and family entertainment.
To mark the occasion, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai Tourism, has highlighted the best things to do on the opening day of DSF.

On day one – Tuesday – there will be a 12-hour sale to kick off the 23rd edition of DSF.
Majid Al Futtaim, in partnership with DFRE, has announced it will host the mega-sale exclusive to its shopping malls in Dubai: Mall of the Emirates, City Centres Deira, Mirdif, Me’aisem, Al Shindagha and My City Centre Al Barsha.
Participating retailers in each of the malls will offer discounts of up to 90 per cent until stocks run out.
Moreover, during the 12-hour sale - from 12pm to 12 midnight – shoppers who spend Dh200 can enter a draw to win a grand prize of Dh50,000. The winner will be announced on Tuesday at midnight at City Centre Mirdif.
DSF has also teamed up with five homeware stores over the next five weeks to give shoppers a chance to give their dining room, living room or bedroom a makeover.
Starting with IKEA, one of the largest retailers in the world, from Tuesday until January 1, for every purchase of Dh1,000 in the Dubai store, shoppers will automatically be entered into a draw to win a concept room, which has been created specifically for DSF. The winner will be announced on January 2.
Malls and other venues will host live performances, street shows and fireworks.
There will be a chance to win a daily prize of an Infiniti QX60 plus Dh150,000 in cash. In addition, there will be a weekly draw where four lucky winners will receive a cash prize of Dh50,000 each.
Shoppers at participating malls this DSF will get a chance to win up to Dh1 million in cash prizes and vouchers beginning Tuesday.
Running during DSF from December 26 until January 27, the four weekly draws will be held at the Global Village Main Stage on January 6, 13, 20 and 27. The draws will be telecast live on Sama Dubai.
The "Shop and Win" will culminate with prizes to be won by lucky shoppers. One shopper will win Dh100,000, another one will get Dh50,000 and while three will get Dh10,000 every week.
Shoppers can also win 33 kilos of gold worth Dh5 million during this DSF.
During 33 days of DSF, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group’s promotion will choose 100 winners, including a mega winner on the final day raffle who can take home one kilogram of gold.
Three lucky shoppers will win gold prizes every day — one 500gm gold bar and two 250gm bars.
Customers purchasing gold jewellery worth Dh500 will be entitled to one raffle coupon and those who buy diamond jewellery, pearl or watches worth Dh500 will get two raffle coupons to take part in the daily draw.
