Dubai: If you missed the 12 hours of price-busting deals at the super sale in Dubai last Tuesday, don’t despair. There are still surprises in store for bargain hunters out there, organisers of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) said on Thursday.
Every Friday during DSF, some brands will go all out with discounts, slashing prices by more than 50 per cent for a limited time period, and budget-savvy consumers will need to keep an eye out for announcements because each flash sale will be revealed only 24 hours in advance.
And to mark the start of the Friday surprise sale, Athlete’s Co. at City Centre Deira is offering each item at the shop for only Dh49.
Shoppers, however, will have to make a dash for the store, if they want to score some sportswear because the offer is only available for three hours, from 9am to 12 pm, or until stocks run out.

The next deal will be unveiled on Thursday, 4 January 2018, according to DSF.
Now on its 23rd edition, DSF is held every year and it’s considered the biggest shopping festival in the emirate that generates billions of dirhams in retail expenditures.
In 2011, shoppers spent a whopping Dh15.1 billion during the festival period, with some Dh5.9 billion generated from tourists.
DSF isn’t just all about bargain hunting. Shoppers will also get the chance to score some raffle prizes or enjoy live entertainment across the malls.
At Ibn Battuta, a brand-new car will be given away to lucky shoppers every two weeks. There are also electronics and vouchers up for grabs, and all shoppers have to do is spend Dh300 or more to score a raffle ticket.
“Visitors will also be dazzled by enchanting live dance performances and a wide range of entertainment acts throughout DSF season from 26 December fo 27 January,” Nakheel Malls said in a statement on Thursday.
One of the most popular attractions of DSF, the Infiniti Mega Raffle is also giving away cars and cash prizes. Customers can buy raffle tickets for Dh200 each and get the chance to drive away in a brand-new Infiniti QX60 and get Dh150,000 richer.
And as other malls across the city are joining in the festive spirit, expect to see some light stilt walkers, plate spinners, musicians, gymnasts, acrobats, dancers and other performers doing some stunts the next time you go shopping.
