Dubai: The Philippines took its third beauty title this year with Mary Eve Adeline Escoto winning the Miss Asia Global 2017.

The 24-year-old Escoto bested 19 other candidates to take the crown at the pageant held in Kerala in India on Tuesday.

Bashkortostan candidate Regina Mukhamadieva was the first runner-up and Akansksha Mishra from India was declared second runner-up

Apart from the crown, Escoto also won Best in National Costume, Best in Formal Wear, and the Missosology Choice award. 

The beauty from Guimaras in the Philippines describes herself as "flexible and goal-oriented" and said she is passionate about "blogging, business, and travel".

Other candidates awarded at the pageant included Miss China, Honey Tian Mi, who was crowned Miss Asia 2017.

Escoto's victory came after Filipina candidate Karen Ibasco was crowned Miss Earth 2017 in Manila earlier this month.
 
Also in November, Philippine candidate Winwyn Marquez was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 in Bolivia, making her the first Filipina to compete and win in the beauty pageant.
