Hollywood actor Will Smith will host One Strange Rock, a new National Geographic 10-part series that will premiere in the UAE on March 24.
The series “explores the fragility and wonder of planet Earth, a curiously calibrated speck of a planet in the harsh universe,” according to a statement.
One Strange Rock further explores questions such as why is Earth the only planet (that we know) to support life? How fragile are the perfectly tuned systems that sustain this living planet? What are the greatest threats to the environment and human existence on Earth? Are we alone, and where did we come from?
Smith takes on these questions with the help of eight astronauts, including Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian to command the International Space Station (ISS), Jeff Hoffman, who has logged 34.6 million kilometres in space, Mike Massimino, the first person to send a tweet from space, among others.
The series airs at 9.50pm in the UAE.
