American pop star Justin Bieber accidentally struck a photographer with his pickup truck after attending church services on Wednesday night, according to police and witness videos.

Bieber, 23, hit the photographer, 57, with his large black SUV after leaving the Hillsong Church in Beverly Hills.

In a video posted by gossip website TMZ, Bieber can be seen slowly driving out of his parking spot, while his car is swarmed by flash photographers.

Bieber seems to make impact with one photographer, and in the next scene, the photographer is curled up on the ground, holding onto his leg. Bieber crouches down next to him and asks how he can help him.

“Can you not move your leg?” Bieber asks in the video. “The car didn’t run over you, though. The tyre ran all the way over you?”

Reports say Bieber remained with the photographer for 10 minutes, until paramedics and police arrived.

Photographers and videographers remained at the scene, as well; in the video, Bieber can be heard asking them: “Did you guys get enough footage of this?”, to which one bystander responds, “No, can you pose a little more?”

The video ends after Bieber speaks to police and the photographer is carried into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher.

The accident comes days after Bieber cancelled the rest of his Purpose world tour due to “unforeseen circumstances”. The star had already performed 150 shows, including a Dubai stop in May.

Bieber earlier this month attended a Hillsong conference with unconventional pastor friend Carl Lentz. Australian TV presenter Richard Wilkins ignited rumours that Bieber might have cancelled his tour due to a desire to “reconnect with his faith”.

Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were allegedly at the same church service on Wednesday night, though they were not involved with the incident.
