Aahana Krishna, who has three younger sisters, enjoyed the pampering that came with playing Sarah in Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela.

With Nivin Pauly and Srinda playing her onscreen older siblings, Krishna found another family away from home — a brother to tease her and a protective sister in Srinda.

Shanti Krishna and Lal Sr played the parents in this story.

Incidentally, when Krishna was a baby she was brought to the set of a Malayalam film featuring her father (actor Krishna Kumar) and Shanthi Krishna.

“I was to be Shanthi aunty’s baby, but apparently I cried a lot and my mother took me home,” she said.

Sarah from Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela is an architect.

“She is an emotional person and busy with friends until a calamity strikes home,” said Krishna. “How the family deals with this phase is told with humour.”

Watching the first show of Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela with team members at a cinema in Kochi is an experience she treasures fondly.

“Sarah is part of many pivotal scenes in this family drama and it was heart-warming listening to the audience cheering. I recorded it on my phone,” added Krishna.

Krishna has signed her third film, titled Luca. Arun Bose, a professor from Madras Christian College, is directing this romantic thriller. She is paired opposite Tovino Thomas, who plays the title role of Luca.

“It’s a role that offers scope for performance and will make me step out of my comfort zone,” added Krishna, who made her cinema debut in 2014 with Nyan Steve Lopez.
