The poster of Tagaru couldn’t have illustrated its title better with an image of lead actor Shiva Rajkumar sporting the horns of a ram.

Director Suri, better known as ‘Duniya Suri’ (after his impressive debut film, Duniya), is back with this action thriller that is being talked about for its neo-noir non-linear narrative presentation.

Suri says the audience liked his characterisation and screenplay that pays attention to little details. Suri and Shiva come together for the second time after Kaddipuddi.

Rajkumar Junior plays a police officer whose mission is to cleanse society of its mafia ills. Bhavana is paired opposite Shiva Rajkumar, playing a dentist.

With a mass hero in the lead, Suri’s antagonist is surprisingly Dhananjayan, who has earlier played the hero in his films. Manvitha Harish plays a vivacious rock-band player.

“It is a significant role,” said Suri, who introduced Harish with his film, Kendasampige, in 2015.

After every commercial film, Suri makes a film close to his heart. His next is titled Kaage Bangara. “It will be my kind of film-an emotional story,” he said.

Tagaru, produced by KP Srikanth, will be hitting screens in the UAE soon.
