Antony has written the screenplay along with Yuhi Sethu and it is produced by director Vijay under his banner Think Big Studios and Paulsons Media Ltd.

Sathyaraj reprises Lal’s character from the original while Sethu plays the character Sreenivasan did in the original. Anu Mol takes on Sajitha Madathil’s role. Varun makes his debut as the auto-driver that was played by Vinay Fort in the original.

Antony who began editing in 2003 with Gautham Menon’s Kaakha Kaakha says, “I enjoyed the original story. But the pace for the Tamil audience is slow, though I found it real. So we had to cut it short a bit and bring in the story earlier.”

Oru Naal Iravil is about a situation where two strangers find themselves locked inside a room. One is a middle-aged man, married with a family that includes a teenaged daughter; the other is a prostitute.

M.S. Prabhu is the cinematographer. Navin Iyer has scored music.
