South Indian actress Bhavana, who has become a poster child of inner strength and resilience, expressed her gratitude for all the support that she garnered from her fans.

“Thank you so much for all that. I want to thank each and every one for their support,” said Bhavana.

The 31-year-old actress was in Dubai on Monday to launch designer Rehana Basheer’s eponymous boutique on Al Wasl.

Dressed in a lush maroon velvet skirt and cold-shoulder blouse, her mind was solely on creations stocked at the boutique.

So did she pick up her wedding trousseau from that store, we asked after she admitted that she spent over three hours sifting through the collections?

Bhavana got engaged to producer-actor director Naveen in March, this year.

Bhavana got engaged to Kannadiga producer Naveen in March at a low-profile ceremony attended by her close friends including Manju Warrier.

While Bhavana is in discussions with designer Basheer for clothes for the big day, it’s not the idea of a big fat wedding that gets her excited. Her eyes are on the bigger picture.

“I want to focus on life after the wedding, rather than the wedding itself... I have no jitters really because I started putting make-up on and facing the camera when I was 15 and I am used to lot of people around me. But it’s the life after the wedding that excites me,” said Bhavana.

Like most working women today, she’s open to the idea of being a part of films even after her marriage.

The only condition? The project has to excite her creatively.

As of now, she has already wrapped up the filming of her Kannada film and is yet to sign on a new project. The success of her recent film Adam Joan, alongside Prithviraj, was that proverbial pat on her back.

Her life philosophy is simple.

“I just want to be happy at the end of the day. Whether I am doing movies or not, that’s what I want to be... happy,” said Bhavana.

Perhaps, that’s one of the reasons why she isn’t a fan of crash diets or pursuing a strict, disciplined life expected of film stars.

“I don’t work out five days a week and I am a complete foodie. I just can’t stop eating. Perhaps, that’s why I am not looking like a model today. You won’t believe this, but once every month I write down my diet in detail, but I follow it for two days and then I screw it up,” said Bhavana with a laugh.

However it wasn’t her body, but the bold attitude of Bhavana that made the designer Basheer invite her for the opening of her first Dubai store.

“I never give into the pressure of looking perfect... I just want to look good,” said Bhavana.
