Say Chemmeen and this Malayalam romantic drama brings to mind the beautiful song Maanasa Maine Varu, sung by Manna Dey. And, inevitably the images of the lovers Karuthama and Pareekutty, played by Sheela and Madhu, roll past.
It has been more than five decades since the film released in 1965 and to have the lead actors once again onscreen is an achievement.
Malayalam director Aneesh Anwar’s upcoming film, Basheerinte Premalekhanam, brings the veterans together onscreen again. This romantic comedy also features Farhaan Fasil, Sana Althaf and Manikandan.
Basheerinte Premalekhanam releases in Kerala on July 21.
