Pakistani singer Zain Ali died at a friend’s house in the city of Sheikhupura on Friday, according to reports. He is best known for competing in the Indian talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2012.
Friends told Ali’s brother, Sonu, that Ali was in the bathroom for a long time when they allegedly banged on the door and barged in to find him lying unconscious on the ground.
“Zain told us that he was going to hang out with his friends for a few days but we woke up to the news of his death,” Sonu told The Express Tribune.
The cause of Ali’s death has yet to be determined. A medical investigation is underway.
Sonu, who alleged his brother was addicted to drugs, said he is “certain” it was not a suicide.
“But I guess we’ll have confirmation once the investigation and post-mortem reports are here,” he added.
