It’s no secret that Salman Khan was impressed with Abu Dhabi after he filmed his blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, last summer. His affair with the UAE is far from over.

Gulf News tabloid! can exclusively reveal that Khan is likely to return to the UAE soil soon to shoot his next project, Race 3, directed by Remo D’Souza.

According to our industry sources, the team of Race 3 were scouting for locations in Abu Dhabi and surrounding areas, and will head to the UAE after they wrap up their 45-day shooting schedule in Mumbai.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani, Race 3 is a part of the hit thriller series that’s popular for its action-driven tales revolving around rich people mired in conspiracies, deception and double-crossing. The thrillers are invariably glossy and gritty.

The first two instalments featured Bollywood royalty Saif Ali Khan in the pivotal role and was directed by duo Abbas-Mastan, but the third part has Bollywood’s top box-office draw Salman Khan taking up the lead role and D’Souza of ABCD fame in the director’s chair.

Khan isn’t the only actor that’s UAE-bound. Stars including Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, who plays the antagonist, are also a part of the star-studded Race 3 crew.

Like every Bollywood movie that’s filmed in the UAE, there’s a good chance that a casting call for extras will be held in the UAE. Aspiring actors who can speak Hindi and who aren’t fazed by the prospect of sharing the screen space with Khan are likely to be top contenders for a film like Race 3.

History has taught us that the UAE has been a magnet for Bollywood filmmakers and the gravitational pull has grown stronger with each film that has been shot here. For instance, in Khan’s recent blockbuster Tiger Zinda Hai, a set was specially created in Abu Dhabi along with extending support for action-filled sequences that required choppers and helicopters.

Additionally, films such as Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year (filmed entirely in Dubai), Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang (partly shot in Abu Dhabi) and Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai are few of the Bollywood gems that utilised the landscape and infrastructure facilities of this region.

tabloid! reached out about Race 3’s filming plans in Abu Dhabi to media company twofour54, who facilitate such shoots, but they declined to comment. Producer Taurani in a message said it’s too early to speak about the film.
