Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar will soon venture into the hospitality sector with the launch of a wellness centre in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala city.
“For me this is more of a social service act and it will discipline me further. I had never imagined in my wildest dreams that I’d be doing something so corporate, but my family has been very supportive. It’s a welfare centre that will enhance the holistic well-being of a person,” said Babbar in a statement on Sunday.
The inaugural centre will be launched later this year, and will be followed by a chain of centres in other hill stations in 2018.
Sober for more than a year now, Babbar has already begun with all the groundwork.
“After rehab, the actor was fighting depression and to get some inner calm, he visited Dharamshala to complete the detox regime. Since he found it quite therapeutic, he decided to help others by opening up a chain of centres committed to being a support system to people who maybe fighting depression, drug problem or stress,” said a source.
The centres will encourage organic healthy diet and, home-grown detox regimes using ayurvedic massages. The packages will be economically priced and the staff will be locally hired.
