Panaji: The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court on Thursday quashed an FIR filed against Sussanne Khan in a cheating case, citing lack of evidence.

The order was passed by Justice F.M. Reis and Justice Nutan Sardesai.

A First Information Report was lodged against Khan, the estranged wife of Bollywood actor Hritik Roshan, who runs interior decoration and design firm Charcoal Project, accusing her of cheating and misrepresentation in a case involving Rs 18.7 million (just over Dh1 million) at the Panaji police station in June.

Real estate firm Emgee Properties filed the complaint that she had misrepresented herself as an architect to win a contract in 2013.

Khan shared the news in a series of tweets on Thursday. “My petition allowed by Goa bench of the Bombay High Court. Criminal complaint filed by Emgee Enterprises has been quashed by the High Court.”

“No misrepresentation. FIR registered been quashed. The order quashing FIR vindicated my position. Thankful to the judiciary. Justice prevails.”

“I have never made any misrepresentations and have always maintained the highest standards of ethics while discharging my work. Truth be told.”

In September 2013, Emgee Enterprises executed a written contract with Khan “for architectural and designing services” for its Naira Complex being constructed at Siridao in Tiswadi, North Goa.

The complainant alleged that Khan failed to deliver the project within the period stipulated in the contract.
