Actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been busy shooting for American TV show Quantico in the US, flew to Mumbai on Saturday for the promotion of her upcoming big release Bajirao Mastani.
Despite her absence as her two co-stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone kept themselves busy with promotion assignments, Chopra had made her presence felt through Skype.
She is expected to return for promotions next month as well.
“Despite being miles away from home and shooting on a choc-o-bloc schedule for Quantico, Priyanka is constantly in touch with the team and in the loop of everything happening on the film in terms of marketing and promotions. She is very excited about the film,” sources said.
“She is coming tomorrow [Saturday] for an event and will fly to the US for Quantico. Then she will be back for promotions in December as well,” they added.
In the movie, Singh plays Bajirao, Padukone is seen as Mastani and Chopra is in the role of the Maratha king’s first wife Kashi Bai.
Chopra’s character was expected to be introduced to audiences during the promotional event, which will mark her first on-ground activity for the much talked about film.
The Mary Kom actress will then fly back to Montreal to keep up with more Quantico shooting schedules before rejoining the Bajirao Mastani team in December for the film’s full-fledged promotions.
The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to release on December 18, setting it on a box office collision course with Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale.
