In the closing minutes of The Daily Show on Thursday night, Jon Stewart confirmed the last three guests for his final week after 16 years as host: Amy Schumer, Denis Leary and Louis C.K.

The three actors/comedians are all his pals. Recently, Stewart revealed Leary and C.K. as two of his favourite guests, given that they’re his friends and he doesn’t really have to do any work for the interview. Meanwhile, Stewart and Schumer, his fellow Comedy Central star, apparently grabbed pizza earlier this year and talked about her possibly taking over The Daily Show. (She ultimately turned the gig down.)

“Remember, next week is our last week,” Stewart reminded his audience. “We’re going to have a ball, and I can’t wait to show my appreciation at all the support and enthusiasm that you guys have given the show all these years.”

Stewart’s final show next Thursday is shrouded in secrecy, much like the final nights for The Colbert Report and Late Show With David Letterman. However, we’re going to go ahead and guess that Colbert might make an appearance. The episode is scheduled to be 50-minutes long, allowing for a few extra surprises.

Another programming note: Thursday, as a lead-up to the finale, Comedy Central will air a daylong marathon of old Daily Show episodes starting at 10.30am. Looks like there will be some of Stewart’s more famous episodes and guests such as Steve Carell, Malala Yousafazai, Bill O’Reilly, Donald Rumsfeld and Jim Cramer.
