Indian men need to upgrade their conversation skills for online dating, says a poll by Indian dating app TrulyMadly.

The platform conducted research among its users in October, with the participation of more than 550 women.

Over 63 per cent of the respondents in the 18-25 age group said they wanted men to improve their conversational skills, and more than 73 per cent of respondents in the 26-35 age group wanted the same thing.

“Clearly, learning the art of conversation is the best thing a majority of Indian men can do to find a great date online,” Vimoha Bagla, head of content at TrulyMadly, said in a statement.

29 per cent of women in the 18-25 age group say they are looking for a casual relationship online, while over 88 per cent in 26-35 group said they are looking for a long-term relationship.

The research also revealed that nearly half of the women in the 26-34 years group have gone out on at least one date through the dating app, compared to the 36 per cent of women in the 18-25 group who have done so. Over 38 per cent of women said they would prefer a match in the same city.
