The first full trailer for The Mummy remake, starring actors Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella, is out.

The trailer, which was released on YouTube on Monday, opens with an expedition, led by Cruise’s character, Nick Morton, in “the unforgiving desert” to find the tomb of the ancient princess.

Boutella plays Ahmanet, the mummified princess.

One scene shows a flock of crows suddenly attacking the group in a chopper. Following the crash, Ahmanet is awakened.

Actor Russell Crowe’s character, Dr. Henry Jekyll, exclaims: “Please meet princess Ahmanet. She will claim what she has been denied.”

The Mummy remake follows an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her. She is awakened in the current day after years of safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath “the unforgiving desert”. It brings with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

The upcoming action-horror film also stars Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari, Javier Botet and Dylan Smith.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman from a script written by Jon Spaihts, The Mummy is slated to release on June 9, 2017.
