After Vidya Balan’s act in The Dirty Picture, it’s the turn of Kareena Kapoor to play a doomed actress.
Armed with attitude and glamour, Kapoor plays a diva who takes a tumble from the top in her forthcoming project, Heroine.
The plot may seem familiar, but the director Madhur Bhandarkar, a filmmaker who excels in revealing the seamier side of fashion and corporate world, is quick to clarify.
“There is no comparison. The Dirty Picture was a film about an item girl in the ’80s who becomes a star. This film is about the rise of a star of today,” said Bhandarkar to reporters at the trailer launch in Mumbai.
The drama is slated to release on September 20.
