Jackie Chan got a whiff of camels in Dubai this week — and he apparently likes it.

Chan has been to Downtown Dubai and Atlantis. The next obvious destination for the Chinese superstar actor was, of course, camel racing.

Chan, who is in Dubai filming the Indian-Chinese co-production Kung Fu Yoga, visited Al Marmoum camel racing track on the Al Ain Road.

Pictures and video of his visit — during which he wore the traditional UAE kandura (an ankle-length Arab garment also known as thawb or dishdasha), were shared widely over WhatsApp by UAE nationals.

In the video, Chan jokes around with local men — one of whom says “wait for this film, out next year” about the smell in the air.

Chan speaking in Mandarin, asks “what is that smell? It’s so fragrant! Only the smell of the fastest camel is like that!”

The camel racing track will be host to Dubai’s first camel marathon, which will cover 50km, on December 3 to coincide with celebrations for the 44th UAE National Day on December 2.
