We got to host Furious 7 when it filmed in the UAE. And now it looks like we’re getting lucky again with the sequel, Fast 8 or The Fate of the Furious. This according to actor Tyrese Gibson who made the announcement on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

“So proud to announce I had a heart to heart with Universal Pictures and we’re coming to do a #Fast8 movie premiere in Dubai and in #Qatar. You give me love and I’m bringing the love back! We will see you soon! More details to come...,” he posted, with a picture of himself in a kandora.

Gibson, a regular visitor to the UAE, is currently in Abu Dhabi where the seventh instalment in the hit Fast and Furious franchise was filmed in 2015.

The eighth instalment, Fast 8, is due to be released in April. The film will be the first without Paul Walker, who died in a tragic unrelated car crash midway through filming of Furious 7.

“We’re going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen,” actor Vin Diesel told the CinemaCon movie confab in Las Vegas in 2015.

The eighth Fast and Furious movie promises plenty of fast cars, chases and explosions as lead character Dominic Toretto, played by Diesel, goes rogue.

The film also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Gibson, Jason Statham and Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
