Director Sherif Al Bendary’s celebrated feature debut, Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim, will screen at the Vox Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates, as a part of Diff365@Vox, an initiative to promote independent cinema, starting from June 29.

The film follows the story of Ali, who refuses to accept the death of his beloved girlfriend and believes her soul has been reincarnated in the form of a goat. Elsewhere, Ebrahim is followed by haunting voices that control his world. With both young men marginalised and misunderstood by society, they encounter one another and embark on a cleansing journey. As their friendship grows, they realise they can find strength from within each other and embrace their differences.

This Egyptian drama, supported by Dubai Film Market’s Enjaaz programme, made its world premiere at the 13th Dubai International Film Festival earning Egyptian actor Ali Sobhy the Muhr feature award for his performance in the film. It screened at Cannes Junior Screenings during 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Ali, the Goat, and Ibrahim will screen at the dedicated theatre (cinema 9) until July 12. Tickets are available online at the uae.voxcinemas.com and at the box office at the Vox cinemas.
