Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock will regionally premiere his latest documentary Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken! at the Dubai International Film Festival next month.

Spurlock will hold a screening followed by a Q&A session at Souk Madinat on the evening of December 9.

He will also sit for an In Conversation event at the Dubai Film Market’s Forum on December 11 (3.30pm). In Conversation is an interview-style forum, which will be open to the public.

Spurlock, 47 and hailing from America, broke into documentary filmmaking with Super Size Me in 2004. The project uncovered shocking truths about the fast-food industry. It gained him a Best Director honours at Sundance Film Festival and a Best Feature Documentary nomination at the Academy Awards.

He has since directed and produced projects such as Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold and British band One Direction’s documentary, This Is Us.

Diff 2017 runs from December 6 until 13. Tickets for the festival are available through its website.
