It was another day of disappointment in Japan for fans eagerly awaiting the launch of Pokemon Go.

Tech media reports that it would finally be released on Wednesday turned out to be wrong.

That left gamers in Tokyo still pining to start catching Pokemon in their neighbourhoods, two weeks after the launch of the augmented reality game in the US and a couple of other countries.

Sixteen-year-old Souta Horime expressed impatience, and 11th-grader Mayo Uesugi said he doesn’t want to miss the wave.

Pokemon Go is available in more than 20 countries, mostly in Europe and North America. It’s not clear why it has yet to debut in most of Asia.
