UAE team comes out on top
UAE team Nasr eSports fought off tough competition to take the title at the finale of eXTREMESLAND Asia Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) Middle East Champion’s Tour.
The win gets them a spot in the finals in China.
Winning was no easy task, with the competition coming in the form of 11 other teams from the UAE, seven from Saudi Arabia, four from Lebanon and six from Iran.
The top teams in the end were Nasr eSports (former Team Risky) and Yalla eSports from the UAE, ArchNemesis from Saudi Arabia, Team RVN from Kuwait and Game Corner from Iran.
Nasr eSports took a 2-0 victory over Team RvN in the final.
The eXTREMESLAND CS: GO Asia Open 2017 takes place in Shanghai from October 19 to 22.
Project CARS 2>
Rejoice, motorsports fans! Project CARS 2 is out now, refining and expanding on what made the first instalment in the series a favourite among racing enthusiasts. It boasts the largest track roster ever on a console (140), including the classic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the glorious yet terrifying incarnation of the famous Belgian circuit last seen in the real world in 1979.
There are 180 cars to choose from, and gamepad controls have been revamped to make it a much more satisfying experience for those who don’t own a racing wheel. For the purists who can’t imagine taking to the track with anything less than a top-of-the-line wheel, force feedback settings have been simplified and improved, making it easier to drive at the limits determined by the impressive tyre model.
Tracks feature fully localised weather, a dynamic driving line and time of day, and surfaces that are rubbered-in as a racing weekend progresses.
There are quite a few racing games out there that are really good at simulating one or two forms of motorsport, but you’ll be hard pressed to find any that are as ambitious as Project CARS 2 — whether you fancy taking an LMP around the Circuit de la Sarthe, enjoy racing supercars and hypercars around street circuits, love the bleeding-edge of technology and speed to be found in Formula cars, or the pure racing to be found in karting, it’s all here.
A variety of offline and online modes should cater to the gameplay preferences of most racing enthusiasts out there.
If you’re the sort of person who regularly feels the need for speed, this is one release well worth checking out.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen
XCOM 2 proved that Firaxis didn’t just get lucky when they rebooted this much-beloved franchise with XCOM: Enemy Unknown in 2012, which quickly became the new gold standard for turn-based tactics games on both PC and consoles.
Now XCOM 2 expansion War of the Chosen brings new content for fans of shooting aliens in the face.
There’s a new set of enemies in the form of the Chosen, and new Hero classes to take on these fearsome new opponents of humanity.
Three new factions have joined the resistance against the aliens — the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars — opening up new strategic and tactical options in your fight against the hated extraterrestrial menace.
There’s also a new strategic layer and new modifiers for the tactical layer.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is the sort of expansion that I wish we could see more of, one that not only adds more of what is in the base game, but that also changes up the experience enough to make the purchase feel worthwhile. More customisation and replayability is always welcome, especially in a game that’s already so good to begin with.
