Coya restaurant in Dubai. An Abu Dhabi outpost is due in the coming year, one of a number of fine-dining transplants to the capital.

For Abu Dhabi residents who love eating at Dubai hot spots, there’s great news: Many of them have (or will do so shortly) opened at Al Maryah Island.

Already in operation is Roberto’s, the Italian fine-dining concept that’s as much a party spot as it is a restaurant — at least at its original location in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Another DIFC favourite, La Petite Maison, will open at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island in September 2017, so there will still be a few trips down the E11 for fans of that French Mediterranean spot.

In the meantime, also opening on the island within the next few months are Coya (a Peruvian party spot that’s also at the Four Seasons on Jumeirah Beach), Nusr-Et (a Turkish-origin steakhouse, also at the Four Seasons), Dubai’s homegrown Mexican favourite Loca, Eat Greek (the name is a dead giveaway).

The restaurants are part of the Galleria mall’s The Dining Collection — and the operators don’t hide the fact that these are existing, already successful concepts, rather than new creations.

One restaurant, is, however, a unique to the Galleria: Sa-Mar, a Spanish seafood joint.

For more, check out the hotels on the site: Chinese Dai Pai Dong in the Rosewood, and the Four Seasons, which has Butcher & Still and Cafe Milano in the works.

“This is incredibly important news for the capital,” said Charles Martinez, general manager of The Galleria and VP of Gulf Related says. “Abu Dhabi’s dining scene has been progressing solidly over the past few years, but this will propel it forward into the spotlight. Each of the restaurants have been chosen as a result of its outstanding quality, unique brand values and overall commitment to innovation. The expansion of The Dining Collection will allow us to redefine ourselves as a luxury shopping and dining destination.”
