Sharjah’s Buhaira neighbourhood is getting a taste of gourmet eateries this month.

First up, Australian gourmet shop and cafe Jones the Grocer is opening in UAB Tower, near the Al Noor mosque.

It’s the first of two sites in Sharjah and is an “express” format serving sandwiches, soups and salads, pastries and a small selection of take away and retail items. A full range of beverages is on offer. It’s open Sunday-Thursday, 7am–3pm and is closed weekends and public holidays.

Buhaira Corniche also get a Zaroob this week. The Palestinian street-food spot is already a favourite in Dubai.

In Dubai later this month, a new Jones is opening in the Dusit Thani Hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road, occupying the space formerly held by Maison Mathis.

It will be the first Jones in Dubai with an alcohol licence and will have indoor and outdoor seating, a walk-in cheese room and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
