The Junction presents its first Hindi musical production, Andhon Ka Haathi, (The Blind Men and their Elephant), based on one of India’s most celebrated writer and poet Sharad Joshi’s timeless satirical script. Directed by Rashmi Kotriwala, the play will be staged on September 29 and 30 at 7.30pm and on October 1 at 2.30 and 7.30pm.

The play is allegorical as it unfolds diverse political and social scenarios of 1970s India in a comical style. The plot revolves around five blind people and an elephant. Sutradhar, the presenter and narrator of the play, brings an elephant before five blind men and requests them to identify, recognise and render their own interpretations of it. What ensues, is an amusing trail of tales, leading to a carnival of absurdity, conflicts, utter disorder that’s in for an outrageous array of surprises.

Joshi’s works include India’s first television sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Lapataganj. Bollywood films to his credit include Choti Si Baat, Utsav and Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin.

Tickets are priced at Dh100 at The Junction, Alserkal Avenue. Call 04-3388525 or write to info@thejunctiondubai.com
