Dubai:  Got Dh5,870 to spare? That’s how much you’d have to shell out to attend a ‘masterclass’ in Dubai featuring Kim Kardashian West and her make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic, often credited as the man behind the reality star’s face.

The event, to be held on October 14 at MusicHall Dubai at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on the The Palm Jumeirah, will see the star and Dedivanovic  “share beauty secrets, tips and techniques to create their sought-after signature looks,” according to organisers.

The pair will also share insights into business and building strong artist/client relationships, the dos and don’ts of becoming a successful makeup artist, what celebrities look for in an artist, share personal stories from their ten years of working together. Kardashian will also talk about how to market yourself and build your social media presence.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask Kim and Mario questions and each person will get to meet the pair, take a photo and receive a gift bag worth $1,000 (about Dh3,690) with items hand selected by Dedivanovic himself. Light snacks and refreshments will be served at the venue.

Kardashian West, who was last in Dubai in November 2014, hinted at a return to the city in June. “Planning out my travels for the rest of the year and I think i see a birthday trip to Dubai! [sic],” she had tweeted.

Last month, she made the announcement: “So excited to go to Dubai in October for the master class with @MakeupByMario. It’s both of our birthday month too so we have to celebrate!,” she posted on her social media platforms.

A trendsetter for many of her often-changing looks — contouring, anyone? — Kardashian-West credits Dedivanovic with teaching her everything she knows about make-up. The pair met in 2008 when Dedivanovic was asked to do the then rising star’s looks for Social Life magazine, and have since become fast friends.

“Over the years, I’ve come to know what Kim likes and what works best for her face. I think what really helps is that she lets me create the look I want and be an artist,” Dedivanovic, an Albanian-American, told The Telegraph last year. “She has complete trust in me and, after all these years, her face still inspires me as it did when we first met.”
