Gamers rejoice! GamesArabia takes place this weekend at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and you’ll get the rare chance to try out some of the biggest upcoming games before they’re released.

The convention will also feature celebrities and other attractions. Here is our list of what we are most excited to see from September 14 to 16.

WWE 2K18

It’s more than a month before the latest entry in this long-running series will hit store shelves, but you’ll be able to try it out at the event.

We’re convinced that WWE Superstars have never looked as good as they do in this game, which has really upped the ante in the graphics stakes. Combine this with an incredible roster of current, past (and future) stars, and you’ve got a game that is likely to be a must-buy for WWE fans of all ages.

Call of Duty: World War II

The Call of Duty: World War II beta was impressive, with the new War Mode breathing new life into what had become a somewhat stale formula for some fans of this annual sales juggernaut. Sledgehammer Games returns the series to the conflict where it first made its name, meaning there’s not a single jetpack in sight.

Cod: WWII is being released on November 3 — so, if you don’t take this opportunity to get in on the action, it’s going to be a long wait before you can do so again.

Mojo Rawley

This WWE Superstar will be doing a meet-and-greet on September 16. A fixture on SmackDown, he’s famous for the intensity he brings to his matches. UAE fans don’t often get a chance to get up close and personal with the larger-than-life stars of the WWE, so this is a chance they won’t want to miss.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor surprised a lot of people, turning what looked like a rather silly premise on paper into a fun and engaging action title. The innovative Nemesis system ensured that no two players would have exactly the same experience, and added a lot of replay value.

The sequel’s decision to bring loot boxes into the mix has attracted some unflattering comments, and we’re hoping they don’t detract from a game that has all the ingredients to be something truly special.

Give it a go at GamesArabia and it might be easier to decide whether you want to part with your money on October 10.

Cosplay competition

We don’t think you ever need an excuse to spend your time checking out the latest games, but as far as extra incentives go, getting a chance to see what the UAE’s many talented cosplayers can come up with is right up there with the best. The costumed wonders are sure to bring their A-game, what with a fully paid trip to Spain and a ticket to an El Clasico game, worth Dh10,000, up for grabs.
