London is one of my favourite cities in the world. Whenever I ask for recommendations, I always make sure to speak with people who live there or have lived there. One place I heard great things about is a super chic spot called Polo Bar in the Westbury Hotel in one of London’s most high end neighbourhoods, Mayfair.

The award-winning Polo Bar has a very Art Deco vibe happening. The design has taken opulence to the extreme with its Swarovski Crystal fittings and custom Fendi detailing. You step inside and you feel the luxury of high end London.

Happy Monday everyone #Mayfair #rainydays #comeover to the Polo Bar

The Polo Bar is mainly known for its stylish selection of beverages and grape, but we were here to sample the extraordinary food. I opted for the typical tourist meal- Fish and Chips. I’ve had it before as a form of street food in London, but I really just wanted to try a well-executed high end version of the popular dish.

While I waited for my main course, I enjoyed a beautiful Mocktail called the Tea Breeze. It was presented in a lovely glass and was made up of tea shaken with passion fruit juice and peach puree, topped with purple rose buds. It was sweet, but not too much so and the taste of the tea was elegant and silky. We were also offered some complementary bar snacks made up of delicious ingredients including delicious crispy pastry bites and some almonds.

This high end version of Fish and Chips dish was a line caught fillet of cod in a crisp batter with hand cut chips, served with tartare sauce on the side. I loved the quality of the fish and the delicious crispiness of the batter.

There was something special about the hand cut chips. They were thick and crunchy from the outside, and soft on the inside. They just don’t make them like this in the UAE. I love how much effort the British have put into making the perfect chip and I may have just had it when I went to Polo Bar.

We finished the meal off with little chocolates, while we sipped on our Mocktails. It was a cloudy day, so I stayed inside a while longer and enjoyed the soft, elegant interiors of Polo Bar in my favourite city in the whole world.
