GITEX Shopper opened on Wednesday last week at the Dubai World Trade Centre and runs until April 1. Tickets are priced at Dh20 and can be purchased online or at the venue.
While several electronic outlets outside the official venue offer similar deals on electronics and home appliances, the energy at the World Trade Centre is quite exciting.

If you’re in the market for new gadgets, here are a few of the latest launches and deals in the UAE that caught my eye.
Xperia XZ
Sony are known for their consistency, you always get a device bundled with the best tech thanks to the company’s vast experience with audio, displays and cameras. The bundling continues at GITEX with the discounted Xperia XZ for Dh2,299 bundled with a Jabra Bluetooth headset, a power bank, a selfie stick and a backpack from Jumbo.
Motorola Moto Z
Priced at Dh2,299 as well, the uber-slim Moto Z is without a doubt one of the most exciting smartphones in the market right now. This device features Moto Mods, which allow you to snap on modules to the rear of the device.
HTC U Ultra
The premium pack will be available at GITEX shoppers in the UAE. The device is priced at Dh2,499, bundled with a range of accessories worth Dh500. Other trinkets include an audio-jack converter from USB Type C to 3.5mm AUX, a screen protector, and a 128GB SD Card, a clear case, a Rapid Charger 3.0 and HTC USonic Hi-Res Audio earphones.
Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro
Huawei are bundling up as well with different offers from different retailers. The two devices you should be looking at are the Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Pro. Usual bundles include a power bank and Bluetooth headsets. However, Plugins are throwing in a gold coin as well for Dh2,199 on the Mate 9 and Dh2,949 on the Pro.
Dell Inspiron 15 7000
Dell unveiled their latest powerhouse during GITEX. Meet the world’s smallest 13-inch, the 2-in-1 XPS 13 and the Inspiron 15 7000 entry-level gaming laptop. When it comes to laptops at GITEX, look out for the best bundle, the majority include a mouse, earphones and an antivirus. While some like Jumbo throw in a Microsoft office subscription and a 1 TB hard-disk drive too. Sharaf DG, on the other hand, are throwing in close to 20 extra products on select laptops such as backpacks and gaming headphones.
Samsung Gear 360
Samsung’s little orb-like 360-degree camera makes the list thanks to its recent price drop thanks to discounts available on the final price. The camera costs Dh899 and you can also get the Samsung Gear VR headset for Dh399.
Samsung S7 Edge
This device is one of the most sought after. And the bundles are absolutely crazy. Each offer differs from retailer, but Jumbo again, are throwing in a Samsung Gear VR2, a wireless charger, a Level U headset, a 128GB microSD card, a passport sleeve a Targus backpack, a selfie stick, and – believe it or not – a watch for Dh2,599. Jacky’s Electronics have the S7 Edge at Dh2,349 with a few extras and a Dh300 voucher too.
iPhone 6S Plus
While the 32GB 6S Plus is current going for Dh2,599 on the official apple store online, you can pick it up for Dh2,299 at Plugins. There isn’t much of a price drop on the iPhone 7 as it starts at Dh2,599 at Jumbo stores – and is similarly priced elsewhere.
